Construction has officially commenced at Palmyra West, marking a significant milestone for this highly anticipated and almost sold-out development.
Over the weekend, the occasion was celebrated with a Turning of the Soil ceremony, bringing together future residents and project partners to recognise the beginning of construction. The event highlighted the strong sense of community already forming around the project, with buyers joining in to celebrate this exciting next chapter.
Launched in December, Palmyra West experienced exceptional demand, with 70% of residences sold during the initial release period. This early success reflects a growing appetite for well-located, thoughtfully designed housing that balances lifestyle and affordability.
Often described as part of the “Missing Middle,” Palmyra West Apartments exemplify low-rise, medium-density living within an established, high-amenity suburb. As housing affordability continues to be a key consideration for buyers, the development has attracted strong interest from first-home buyers, alongside ongoing support from repeat purchasers.
The project’s progress is made possible through the collaboration of a dedicated team, including builder Hanssen Construction and Sin Chang of Chang Architects. Their combined expertise will help bring the vision for Palmyra West to life, with completion anticipated in mid-2027.

Situated among tree-lined streets and surrounded by established parks, Palmyra West offers a unique blend of tranquillity and convenience. Located on the doorstep of Fremantle, the development features 130 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, complemented by a suite of resort-style amenities. Positioned between the Swan River and the coastline, residents will enjoy a lifestyle that seamlessly combines coastal charm with urban accessibility.
Palmyra West builds on the success of Stage 1, Palmyra East, completed in 2019. This earlier stage transformed the former Golden Egg Farms grading facility into a vibrant residential community, delivering 128 apartments across five low-rise buildings. In addition to providing much-needed medium-density housing, Palmyra East enhanced local amenity through thoughtful landscaping and the introduction of a new pedestrian connection along McGregor Road, improving walkability in the area.
The Palmyra West Turning of the Soil ceremony also featured remarks from CEO Ronald Chan, who was joined by COO Melissa Chan, Chairman John Chan, Hanssen Managing Director Darren Linton, and Chang Architects Managing Director Sin Chang. Together, they acknowledged the collaborative effort behind the project and shared their vision for the community taking shape.

With strong sales momentum, a prime location, and a clear commitment to quality design, Palmyra West is set to become a standout addition to the suburb, delivering a vibrant, connected lifestyle for its future residents.
